Kernersville, North Carolina Entertainment Guide

Kernersville was once a sleepy little town, but that’s starting to change. These days, there are plenty of things to do in and around this charming town.

Paul J Ciener Botanical Gardens

Opened to the public in 2011, the Paul J Ciener Botanical Gardens are a wonderful place to relax and take a stroll. In April, the grounds are vibrant with tulips, azaleas, and dogwoods. Different breeds of flowering plants bloom here, throughout the summer and fall months.

Körner’s Folly

Originally built in 1880, Körner’s Folly has been dubbed “the strangest house in America.” Originally the personal residence of designer and artist Jule Glimer Körner, this odd abode is now a museum and gift shop showcasing the eccentric artist’s work and life. The former residence has some very unique architectural features. No two doorways or windows are exactly alike, and the ceilings range from 5.5 to 25 feet in height.

During the artist’s life, the home was under constant renovation, in order to make room for the designer’s flood of new ideas. These days, the place is frozen in time, a testament to the uniquely Victorian ingenuity of its maker.

Friendly Acres Family Farm

Just a short jaunt from Kernersville, in nearby High Point, Friendly Acres Family Farm gives animal lovers of all ages a chance to make new furry friends. Miniature horses, ducks, llamas, pigs, and goats are all among the farm’s residents. The farm also boasts a picnic area, and serves up cotton candy and snow cones for any visitor with a sweet tooth.
